Step 1
The symet is a clever one motor robot . A symet is a Symetrical robot.
It travels by slidding on two of the capacitor edges and the motor drive wheel until it meets an obstacle. Pushing on the paper clip ring results in the Symet kicking onto one of the other two sides and going off in a new direction.
If you're NEW to BEAM and electronics in general, I suggest you try the Beetle robot first
Before starting, I suggest you to read the complete tutorials. This will greatly lower the chances of you making a mistake.
Parts:
1 x efficient motor ( Walkman motor )
3 x 1000uf to 3300uf capacitor ( you can have a bigger value for each capacitor and the voltage is not really important 6.3V,16V, 25V, 35V, etc. )
2 x jumbo paper clip
3 x washer (optional )
1 x 2cm of electric wire
Here is the arragement of the capacitor. You can but 3, 4, 5, etc. capacitors.
Try to have a 5-15 degree angle from the output shaft to the edge of the Symet.
